The Britannia Youth Organisation CIC

We are a community interest company working on a grassroots level based in the city of Birmingham primarily working with young people from deprived and marginalised backgrounds. Our work is centred largely in the wards of Ward End, Alum Rock, Bordesley Green and Small Heath which suffer statistically higher levels of poverty and deprivation than others in the city. We seek to help deter youngsters away from a life of criminality and gang culture by providing recreational activities, sports incentives and volunteering opportunities which would otherwise not be available due to financial constraints and civic exclusion. We also support those not in education, training or employment to find relevant and inspiring opportunities to do well and succeed. We have successfully tackled issues surrounding food poverty, women’s sanitary poverty, animal welfare issues, unemployment and environmental matters in our city.
