The Uniform Project UK
The Uniform Project is a newly established enterprise that has set out a nationwide mission to clothe primary and secondary students with repurposed uniforms. This is to remove the financial burden that parents/ carers face when enrolling their children in school. Through this, we aim to instill confidence in students and support students throughout their academia.
By upcycling uniforms, the project will sustainably equip students with clothing, and reduce the environmental impacts of wastage. UnPckd reported that 1.4 million wearable school uniforms are thrown away each year in the UK. This has detrimental impacts on the environment due to pollution and waste. If the UK plans on moving towards an economically and environmentally friendly model of obtaining school uniforms, then we must reduce the demand for brand new uniforms.
