What's included in this Pledge?

As people managers we are our own worst enemy when it comes to having time to do our job! Our teams become over dependant on us because we often believe that the best way to help others is to fix their problems, provide solutions and give people the answer.

And the result – we become overwhelmed, spend our time ‘fire-fighting’ and we don’t have the time to focus on the work we really need to do. Does this sound familiar?

Do you or someone in your team want to:
– Challenge yourself to be a better manager?
– Learn more about yourself and your impact on others?
– Feel more confident in your approach?
– Enjoy managing others more?
– Have the opportunity to develop your own style of management?

CAPE are now taking applications for their next Developing Brilliant People Managers programme with a free place for one participant from a charity on each cohort (worth £1,495). It is a unique 12-month programme that provides learning, a community, coaching, peer support and challenge, and a chance to provide others with self-belief through a social impact element too.

For more information including details of the practical, engaging content, a community of people to support you during and long after the programme finishes and the opportunity to work with another charity to put your developed skills to the test register your interest.

Tell me about CAPE

Naomi and Lynsey met over fifteen years ago when working in corporate roles in infrastructure and real estate. They are now career and leadership coaches passionate about helping people reach their potential and be fulfilled at work.

They both experienced self-belief impacting challenges when they became managers for the first time many years ago. The move from being technical experts (Naomi as an engineer and Lynsey as a Chartered Surveyor) and delivering great work as individual contributors, to then managing others was a significant transition. Whether that was managing suppliers, project managing internal colleagues and external contractors/consultants or direct line management.

This contributed to the reason they both became coaches and felt drawn to better understand and help others in management and leadership development. These early experiences often shape how we progress in our career, our self-confidence, and the type of manager we become. This in turn influences how successful we are at work and in turn the success of the businesses we work for.

The CAPE Developing brilliant people managers programme was created to support managers to feel equipped, enabled and empowered to carry out their roles.  CAPE also provide bespoke development workshops, programmes and 1-2-1 coaching.
